a little bit about me

I'm Mariah! Originally from Downers Grove, IL, I grew up inspired by theatre-making I saw in Chicago, where I have been working on stage and in film in recent years. Currently, I am a first year actor at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale, and I am also a graduate of Northwestern University, where I received my Bachelors of Arts in Theatre and Psychology, as well as a Music Theatre certificate. I have worked in productions with Northlight Theatre, Boho Theatre, Emerald City Theatre, and others. I have a passion for developing new and meaningful plays that reflect the diverse world we live in, and have performed in new work at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, About Face Theatre, Prop Thtr's Rhinofest, and the Something Marvelous Festival.

In addition to performing, because of my background in psychology and passion for social justice, I enjoy participating in community spaces for the healing and connection of people of color. I am a certified Truth and Racial Healing Transformation Practitioner and have previously worked as the Equity Program Manager for Planned Parenthood of Illinois, which included being a speaker for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America's national conference.

In my free time, you can find me rollerskating, playing music with friends, reading fantasy novels, or spoiling my dog!
